Mammoth Class Carrier

Mammoth Class Carrier

What fleet would be complete without a carrier? I designed the Mammoth Class carrier obviously with a clear eye towards modern aircraft carriers. Although the design would not be very effective for space, in fiction it doesn’t really matter. You can get away with a few things there that you can’t in real life.  The Conning Tower came from a modern American CV design as well as the big wide flight deck.  I did give the Mammoth a single heavy turret from the Vulcan Class warship so it can pack a punch in ship to ship fights, as well as rows of anti fighter guns to take out torpedo bombers.

The Doberman Class Cruiser

Another one of my original creations, I designed this ship first in my original universe. Nothing too exciting, I was just trying to take my modeling skills to another level and infuse a great more detail. Most of the detail on this ship is superfluous and serves no real purpose but it did get me to put more thought into my design process. The drawback to this cruiser is that it really packs no heavy weapons, just rows of smaller turrets. Wouldn’t be much good in a fight against a Vulcan battleship.

Vulcan Class Battleship

The Vulcan Class Heavy Battleship

I created this battleship several years ago when I started designing several ships to fit into my own universe. I didn’t really have anything specific in mind when I started it but I really wanted a model that would convey a sense of power, I think this Vulcan Battleship does that quite well. I took inspiration from modern and historical naval warships for the conning tower design as well as the large forward guns. Most of the rest is just window dressing.

Dark Proceedings

This was a cover that I created for a science fiction novel that I created back when I was in high school. It wasn’t a particularly good novel but still it was one that I completed and finished and I did sell it to an Australian publisher. Unfortunately for me, the publisher went bankrupt about six months after publishing. I never saw a penny of the royalties. I left it alone for years and then came across it one time while sifting things around at the house. I decided to create a new cover for it (never really liked the old one) and to have it printed again for my own enjoyment. I opted for just a one off print using a online print company I had used before. I’m reasonably satisfied with the results.  Reading through it again now though makes me realize how inexperienced I was as a writer back then, the story deserves to be rewritten entirely and further fleshed out but I really don’t have the time anymore. Maybe one day. Anyway, here is the cover art for the book that I put together. The designs are all my own and belong in a universe that I may one day be able to bring to life.
